hereinafter referred to as ‘ Company’. For reasons of readability, the masculine form is used in this document. However, it applies to persons of all genders.

 

The Company provides teaching services through its business owner and other persons in the form oftutoring ( in the subjects German, mathematics, NMG, English), homework assistance, exam preparation, learning strategy training, organisational management, as well as language courses in German and English ( hereinafter referred to as ‘ lessons’) to children and adults ( hereinafter referred to as ‘ customer’). In the case of minors, the legal guardians are considered customers.

 

1. Terms of payment

Booked lessons are binding. Payment for all lessons must be made in advance of the lesson taken, unless otherwise agreed. Payment must be made by bank transfer to the company’ s bank account. Payment is considered overdue immediately after the lesson has been taken.

 

A lesson is only considered excused if the company or the business owner has been informed in writing or by electronic means of communication ( including WhatsApp or email) at least 24 hours before the start of the lesson. Unexcused or late excused lessons will be charged in full and must be paid for immediately. In exceptional cases ( e. g. accident, serious illness with a doctor’ s certificate), the company reserves the right to accept later cancellations.

 

A fee of CHF 10 per reminder will be charged for late payments. The company reserves the right to suspend further booked lessons until full payment has been made.

 

2. Offer & duration

A lesson lasts 50 minutes. Double lessons last 1 hour and 40 minutes. Lessons booked at short notice ( 48 hours or less in advance) or at weekends are considered ‘ SOS lessons’ and are subject to a different price tariff.

 

The maximum group size per lesson is 3 people.

 

The company reserves the right to accept larger groups per lesson in individual, justified cases.

 

If 2 to 3 customers have booked one or more group lessons together and the number of participants is reduced so that only one person remains, this person can participate in the lesson at the regular individual rate or the lesson will be cancelled. In addition to individual lessons, the company offers 5- and 10-session subscriptions. Customers who purchase subscriptions have priority when it comes to allocating lessons.

 

3.  Price

4.  Absence from lessons due to holidays

Holidays must be notified in writing at least two weeks before they begin. This applies to both customers and the managing director of the company.

 

5.  Termination by customers

There is no minimum contract period, so cancellation is not necessary. Simply notify us if you wish to terminate or interrupt your lessons ( at least 24 hours before the start of the lesson). Subscriptions are non- refundable.

 

6.  Termination by the company

The company reserves the right to terminate the contract/ cooperation at any time. If termination is due to important reasons, there is no entitlement to a refund for lessons already paid for. Important reasons include serious disciplinary offences, criminal acts by the customer or disruption of teaching activities.

 

7. Insurance & Liability

Customers are responsible for ensuring that they have adequate insurance cover. The company accepts no liability for the loss or theft of items that a customer brings to the company or that belong to the company. Customers are solely liable for any damage that occurs on the way to or from lessons. The company is not liable for physical injury or damage caused by third parties.

 

8.  Force majeure

In the event of force majeure ( e. g. fire, natural disasters, epidemics/ pandemics, failure of public infrastructure, official orders or strikes), the company is entitled to suspend the service in whole or in part without giving rise to any claim for compensation or reimbursement.

 

9.  Data protection

The company undertakes to treat all personal data as confidential and not to disclose it to third parties, unless there is a legal obligation to do so or it has been agreed accordingly.

 

10. Place of jurisdiction

Swiss law applies. The place of jurisdiction is Arlesheim BL.

 

11.  Price changes / Changes to the General Terms and Conditions

The company reserves the right to make price changes and other changes to the General Terms and Conditions at any time. Customers will be notified of these changes in good time. The current version of the General Terms and Conditions applies in each case.

 

12.   Entry into force

These General Terms and Conditions shall enter into force on 7 November 2024.
